What is UTM Parser?

A link is already in market and you need to know which UTMs it carries. ToolYour UTM Parser reads a URL, extracts utm_source through utm_id, lists present keys, and flags missing core fields (source, medium, campaign). It does not rewrite the URL or call Analytics. Same route via REST and MCP (POST /api/v1/marketing-apis/utm-parser).

What are common questions about UTM Parser?

What counts as “missing core” UTMs?

Absence of utm_source, utm_medium, or utm_campaign. Term, content, and id are optional and listed when present.

Can I paste a URL without https://?

Yes — the parser will assume https when the scheme is omitted, then parse the query string.

Can I use this to audit an agency's or partner's links?

Yes — paste any live campaign URL to see exactly which UTMs it carries before trusting a partner's reporting or taking over an account.

What are the key features of UTM Parser?

Full UTM inventory

Reports each standard UTM key as present or null.

Missing-core findings

Actionable list to add source/medium/campaign before reusing the link.

How do you use UTM Parser?

Paste the live campaign URL

From email, ads, or social.

Read present vs missing

Fix core gaps with UTM Builder, then re-check.

Why this tool exists

A link is already live — in an old email, a partner's placement, or a QA ticket — and you need to know exactly which UTMs it carries without decoding the query string by eye. UTM Parser exists as the read-side companion to UTM Builder: paste a URL, get a structured inventory of what's actually there.

Problems it solves

Archived campaign links accumulate in emails, social posts, and partner sites with no record of what tags they carry. Manually eyeballing a long query string to find a missing utm_campaign is slow and error-prone, especially across dozens of legacy links during an audit.

Common use cases

  • Agency handoff audit: checking a client's existing link inventory before taking over campaign tracking.
  • In-house QA: confirming a partner placed the correct UTMs on a co-marketing link before the campaign runs.
  • Pre-launch: verifying a scheduled email or social post's link still carries the UTMs it was built with, after edits.
  • Agent/MCP: an agent parsing a batch of live URLs from a CSV to flag which ones are missing core tracking before a report ships.

Honest scope

This tool only reads and reports on the query string you paste — it does not rewrite the URL, does not call Google Analytics to check whether traffic actually arrived tagged, and does not verify the destination page exists. Fix findings with UTM Builder, then re-parse to confirm.
