Description

Applicant tracking systems and recruiters often filter resumes by keyword overlap with the job posting. Paste the job description on one side and upload your resume as PDF, DOCX, or TXT (or paste text). The tool detects the role focus — tech, marketing, finance, healthcare, sales, HR, education, and more — then compares tools, certifications, and posting language against your resume. You get an alignment score, matched and missing requirements, keyword gaps, and actionable suggestions plus a link to our Resume Builder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as a real ATS?

It approximates keyword overlap using text analysis and a skill dictionary. Real ATS products use proprietary rules, but this shows which terms you are missing before you apply.

Does this work only for tech jobs?

No. The analyzer detects role focus from the posting and matches industry-specific tools and certifications for tech, marketing, finance, healthcare, sales, HR, operations, legal, design, and education roles.

What is the alignment score?

A 0 to 100% measure of vocabulary overlap between the job description and your resume. Higher generally means better keyword match. It is not a guarantee of an interview.

Can I upload my resume instead of pasting?

Yes. Use the Upload tab on the resume side to attach a PDF, DOCX, or TXT file up to 10 MB. Text is extracted automatically.

Can I fix my resume on ToolYour?

Yes. After reviewing gaps, use our free Resume Builder to add missing skills and export an updated PDF.

How should I use the missing keywords list?

Add skills you genuinely have to your resume. Mirror job title language when accurate. Do not keyword-stuff terms you cannot discuss in an interview.
